WHAT MAKES THIS POSITION COOL:
Watch Portland's biggest water fight go down! You will monitor the fight as well as help put the event away.
DETAILS:
Must be able to direct adults and children, reinforce rules and be extremely outgoing. Must be willing to have fun while maintaining order in the water fight area. This position is good for people who like to be a leader. You can ride the 15 mile urban course but must start promptly at 10 and be back in time for the start of your shift.
WHAT MAKES THIS POSITION COOL:
Hang out at the Ice Cream Parlor and watch us vie for the world record largest water fight.
DETAILS:
Help serve ice cream, welcome back riders, help coordinate the water fight, empty garbage, break down canopies, load the truck and generally put the event away. Can ride the entire course as long as you return in time.
WHAT MAKES THIS POSITION COOL:
You get to ride the course before anyone else! You'll take a fresh morning look to ensure all there are signs everywhere they need to be and have not fallen down. We'll arm you with signs and tape and a map.
DETAILS:
Please bring a car, pannier or other suitable bag to carry a large stack of laminated signs. You pick which length of course, either the urban 15 mile or the entire 40 mile. The rest stops will not be open when you ride as the event will not have started yet.
REQUIRED:
To sign up for this position you must be an RN, EMT, or MD and have current CPR certification, as well as bring a cell phone. We have basic ride-along medical kits or you may bring your own.
DETAILS:
Help ensure the safety of the riders by providing very basic medical support on the course. Call 911 for anything serious. Your role is to help riders feel safe and to comfort riders if they are having a medical situation. You pick which length of course, either the urban 15 mile or the entire 40 mile.
WHAT MAKES THIS POSITION COOL :
Take a nice ride around town as you pull signs down from the course. We like to pull down our signage and keep the course clean. You can be a part of this.
DETAILS:
Please bring a car, trailer, or pannier to carry the signs. We'll assign you a short leg of the course and you can sign up with a friend if you like. You can ride the 15 mile urban course but must start promptly at 10 and be back for the start of your shift.
IMPORTANT :
Ride along mechanics must have basic mechanical skills and be able to do on-the-spot repairs. Mechanics bring their own basic tool kit, a cell phone and are proactive about providing support on the course. We will provide a mechanic vest for you to wear on the course so you are recognized as a mechanic.
