BIGGEST SUNDAE We are really impressed with this sundae which has earned the largest sundae award. Look at all that yummy coconut! ABOUT HOT RIDERS Here's what we learned about the you, based on what you told us in our online registration survey: Chocolate was your favored ice cream flavor and you generally like the weather to be warm and in the 70's. But you're an easy going bunch! Nearly as many of you said you really don't care too much about the temperature of the weather. And a ton of you said you don't care for ice cream, what's up with that??? This ride is an ORbike member event. If you were an ORbike member at the time you registered, you saved $5 and got a free beer at the Lucky Lab. [ more info ]	HOTTEST DAY NEWS THANKS FOR RIDING YOUR BIKE - AND EATING ICE CREAM! It wasn't quite the hottest day of the year, not by a long shot, but Sunday surely was a superb day to be riding your bike, squirting squirt guns and eating ice cream. It was just about the most fun way to raise support for a great cause - the Community Cycling Center. We saw some impressively huge sundaes and watched skillful squirt gun shots. By the end of the day, no child was left dry and no stomach was empty. We outfitted some of you with cameras to take pictures on course. From sly and sneaky shots to straight-in-the-face aims, water fight participants worked hard to get each other wet. Oh, we came close, but unfortunately we didn't quite break the record of 1,173. So here's the plan: we're not giving up, we know we can do it and we're going to try again next year. We need your help: tell everyone how much fun you had and bring your friends, coworkers and neighbors next year. Sign up in groups, rope in as many people as you can for a fun day of riding, ice cream and, most importantly, breaking the world record! You'll spend a full day riding through north and northeast Portland as you explore destinations that highlight innovative examples of urban sustainability. Ride, rest, explore - then ride some more.
